The following scoring rubric is subject to change as the Red Velvet Challenge (RVC) continues
Overall Score:
1: I would not recommend this bakery to anyone
2: I hope they were having a bad day
3: I would return, but only to try a different flavor
4: I was definitely satisfied, but didn't need a second slice/cupcake
5: I couldn't leave without a second slice/cupcake and craved a third one a few hours later (ding, ding, ding!)
Aesthetics:
1: It looks like my baking projects from primary school
2: I probably could have done that at home
3: I've seen that before...
4: I definitely could not have done that at home
5: I needed to take multiple pictures to capture the creativity and attractiveness of this baked good
Size: (It matters)
1: Where is my cake/cupcake?
2: No, I did not order a mini/light version
3: Satisfaction, guaranteed
2: Is this an order for two?
1: Garfield would approve...but he's just about the only one who would
The Red Factor:
1: Coquelicot Red
2: Persimmon Red
3: Sinopia Red
2: Rust Red
1: Auburn Red
The Cake:
1: I think they forgot a few ingredients
2: I think it was probably good when it came out of the oven, but is now dry
3: It is tasty, but I cannot quite figure out what flavor it is truly supposed to be
4: Good, definitely edible and moist (I hate that word)
5: Martha Stewart, take pointers
The Icing:
1: Possibly from a box
2: Possibly from a tin (trust me, that's better than from a box)
3: Good texture, neutral flavor, nothing unique
4: Tasty in moderation
5: Can I order icing to go? As a side?
Disclaimer: Now that the Red Velvet Challenge has gone international, I apologize should the vocabulary used here not convey the message that is intended. I also apologize for my use of two key American figures: Garfield and Martha Stewart. I could not find a fat British cat equivalent, and apparently the country contains no famous bakers. My apologies.
